Synopsis
Step Sisters (2018) is a Netflix dance comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Charles Stone III and built around step dancing, campus culture clash, and one nearly impossible favor.
Jamilah (Megalyn Echikunwoke) has it all mapped out. She runs her Black sorority, captains a championship step crew, serves as the dean's student liaison, and her next stop is Harvard Law. The recommendation she needs comes with strings. The hard-partying white women of Sigma Beta Beta just humiliated the college, and Jamilah is told to fix it: teach them to step, and somehow take them all the way to the Steptacular. These girls have no rhythm. The clock is not on her side.
From there the beats are familiar but fun. Cultures collide, rehearsals fall apart, romance sneaks in, and it all rides on one final routine. The movie aims for breezy rather than deep, and on that level it lands as easygoing weekend fare about stubbornness and footwork. Eden Sher and Cheryl Lee Ralph round out the cast.
