Synopsis
A Conspiracy of Faith (Flaskepost fra P, 2016) is a Nordic noir thriller you can watch online on iFILM. A bottle washes ashore carrying a faded message written in blood eight years earlier. It lands on the desk of Copenhagen's Department Q, where surly detective Carl Mørck works cold cases with his partner Assad.
The note turns out to be a plea from an abducted child, and the strange part is that no one ever reported the kid missing. As Mørck and Assad pull the thread, they uncover a predator who has spent years preying on children inside closed religious communities, places where a disappearance is easiest to bury in silence. This is the third film drawn from Jussi Adler-Olsen's novels, here directed by Norway's Hans Petter Moland, with Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Fares Fares back as the mismatched investigators.
The mood runs darker than the earlier entries, circling faith, fanaticism and the cost of adults who look away. Expect cold northern light, a slow tightening of dread and far more menace than on-screen gore. One for anyone who loved the chill of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
