Zoey Stevens has her life mapped out: straight A's, serious dance training, everything in order. Then her mom remarries and the order collapses. New house, new school, an unfamiliar dance squad, a step-dad, three loud step-brothers and a dog that won't behave. Her lucky break is a phone app meant for training dogs that suddenly starts working on the boys around her. One tap, and they do whatever she says.

Built for a younger crowd, the movie runs on dance routines, gentle gags and Zendaya's easy screen presence. It also makes a quiet point: bossing people around with a gadget gets old fast, and you can't remote-control real friends.
