The story follows fifth-grader Taichi Yagami. When his mother and little sister Hikari end up on a runaway train in Shibuya, he races to reach them, and a strange phenomenon pulls him straight into the Digital World. There he and the other DigiDestined kids meet partner creatures who grow and evolve alongside them, then face a threat that could spill back into the human realm.

This version redraws the beloved 1999 adventure with modern animation, faster battles and updated monster designs.
