Revenge of the Nerds

Revenge of the Nerds (1984) is a college comedy from director Jeff Kanew that you can watch online on iFILM. Two brainy freshmen, Lewis and Gilbert, arrive at Adams College and immediately become targets of the jocks running the Alpha Beta fraternity.

The athletes own the campus and bully anyone who doesn't fit in. So Lewis (Robert Carradine) and Gilbert (Anthony Edwards) round up their fellow outcasts, the computer geeks, the oddballs, the quiet kids, and launch a frat of their own. From there it's an escalating prank war over the dorms, the girls, and a seat on the student council, with smarts going head to head against muscle.

The movie became one of the most quoted teen comedies of the decade and spawned several sequels. Some of the humor is very much a product of 1984, but the underdog rebellion against smug golden boys still lands. Keep an eye out for early appearances from James Cromwell and John Goodman.
