Synopsis
In a World... (2013) is Lake Bell's comedy, ready to watch online on iFILM. Bell wrote, directed and stars as Carol, a struggling vocal coach who dreams of breaking into the world of movie-trailer voice-overs.
The catch: that booth belongs to men, and the loudest of them is her own father, Sam Sotto, the reigning king of trailer narration. He pushes her out of the family house to make room for a much younger girlfriend, certain no woman could ever inherit his throne. So Carol fights for the gig narrating a huge franchise campaign — a battle waged on two fronts at once, professional and personal.
Look for Nick Offerman, Eva Longoria, Geena Davis and Demetri Martin in supporting turns. It's a light, sharp indie comedy about sexism in the film business and the terror of finally using your full voice. Bell's debut took home the screenwriting prize at Sundance. Watch In a World...
