3rd Rock from the Sun (1996–2001) is an American sitcom about aliens that you can watch online on iFILM. Four extraterrestrials land on what their commander calls the least important planet around and pose as the Solomons, an ordinary family in Rutherford, Ohio.

High commander Dick (John Lithgow) takes a job as a physics professor while understanding absolutely nothing about human emotion. His crew is just as lost: Tommy, technically the oldest yet stuck in a teenager's body (a young Joseph Gordon-Levitt); the trigger-happy Harry; and Sally, handed a woman's body and a long list of complaints about Earth etiquette. Each episode is really the same wonderful experiment, watching everyday life through the eyes of someone seeing it for the first time.

The role of Dick earned John Lithgow three Emmys for lead comedy actor, and the show ran a full six seasons. The whole engine of the comedy is that outsider's stare at things we stopped noticing, taxes, dating, holidays and all. Great for anyone who misses a proper studio-audience sitcom.
