The calm breaks when four orphanage kids land at the gate — two brothers and two sisters. Dasha, the eldest, has run away before, but this time the escape came with a robbery, and the law won't look away. Rather than break the children, the investigator gambles on Father Anatoliy: if the old monk straightened out two grown troublemakers, surely a few little ones will be easy.
