Synopsis
The Dugout (2024) is a Russian war-fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. Sergey, an ambulance medic, and his German friend Paul make their living digging up old battlefields.
Paul once ran cars from Germany into Russia, drifted into collecting, and now hunts for German medals, helmets and weapons to resell at a steep markup. On one of these digs the pair stumble into a buried dugout near Saur-Mogila — and drop straight into 1941, into the thick of the fighting. Two men who traded on someone else's war are suddenly standing in it, facing a choice: stay and help, or run back to their own time. Alexander Metyolkin and Daniel Littau lead the cast.
Director Mark Gorobets folds a time-travel premise into a war drama with a clear message about the cost of memory. The hook — black-market diggers yanked into the history they were selling off — holds attention better than the usual battlefield solemnity. Stream The Dugout (2024) online on iFILM.
