Two to One

A few weeks before the West German mark arrives in the summer of 1990, neighbors Maren, Robert and Volker stumble on a hidden trove of East German banknotes inside an abandoned mine. The cash becomes worthless the moment currency union kicks in — so they race to convert paper into goods, dragging their entire apartment block into a barter chain that spins further out of control with every trade. Max Riemelt, Ronald Zehrfeld and Peter Kurth round out the cast.
