Synopsis
I Love You Phillip Morris (2010) is a crime comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, with Jim Carrey in one of his boldest roles. It draws on the real life of Texas con artist Steven Russell, a man whose lies were polished enough to fool prison guards and judges alike.
A churchgoing family man and cop, Russell walks away from a car crash and decides to stop pretending — about who he is and about how he pays the bills. His scams land him behind bars, where he falls hard for a gentle, soft-spoken inmate named Phillip Morris, played by Ewan McGregor. To free Phillip and build the perfect life with him, Steven pulls off one outrageous fraud after another: jailbreaks, forged credentials, borrowed identities. Directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa keep the tone teetering between farce and tender romance.
