Kind People

"Kind People" (2009) is a Russian wartime drama directed by Aleksei Karelin, available to watch online on iFILM. The story opens in a small Siberian village in the summer of 1941: three sisters — Anna, Alexandra and Sofia — send their husbands off as volunteers, and the men disappear into the war.

A decade later, Alexandra has built a life with the local police officer Rimas. Then Ivan — her husband, long presumed dead — walks back into the village. Nadezhda Markina and Tatyana Yakovenko carry the film's emotional weight as women shaped by years of waiting and loss.
