"The Forger" (Carmel, 2011) is an American drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Lawrence Roeck sets the story in Carmel-by-the-Sea, a coastal California village that has drawn painters, writers and actors for well over a century.
A sixteen-year-old arrives and falls in with the wrong crowd, ending up tangled in the town's underground art forgery trade. Josh Hutcherson plays the teenager at the centre, with Hayden Panettiere and Lauren Bacall pulling him in opposite directions, and Alfred Molina providing a sharper edge. An elderly local artist — one who remembers Carmel's actual golden years — becomes an unlikely anchor for him.
