Old Fox

Old Fox (老狐狸, 2023) is a Taiwanese drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Hsiao Ya-chuan. Set during Taiwan's property boom of the late 1980s, it follows an 11-year-old boy whose father works hard and stays broke. Then the boy gets close to their landlord — a sharp, prosperous man the neighbours call Old Fox.

Old Fox is happy to teach the boy things his father never could: how wealth is made, who it goes to, and why being decent often costs you money. The father teaches integrity. Old Fox teaches leverage. The boy watches both and has to choose.
