Synopsis
Atom (2025) is a Russian historical drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Set in the summer of 1942, it follows the scientists and intelligence officers assigned to build the Soviet Union's first nuclear weapon — in the middle of a war, on an almost impossible deadline, before former allies can use atomic leverage against the country.
The project runs on mutual distrust. Physicists, spies, and party officials who have no reason to cooperate are forced to do exactly that. Personal stakes keep cutting into work that is supposed to be driven by pure logic. Alexei Guskov and Yuri Chursin lead the main roles; Olga Sutulova and Anna Chipovskaya play two people inside the machine who pay a different kind of price for it. Directed by Nurbek Egen.
