Painkiller (Season 1)

Painkiller (2023) is Netflix's limited series you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Peter Berg. It follows the rise of OxyContin and the Sackler family's role in igniting the American opioid crisis — one that killed hundreds of thousands of people while the company's executives counted profits.

The story moves across three angles. Matthew Broderick plays Richard Sackler, the man who built the marketing strategy that persuaded doctors across the country that the drug was safe and barely habit-forming. Taylor Kitsch plays a sales rep who starts out believing the pitch. Uzo Aduba is the investigator who begins pulling the thread before most regulators were willing to admit anything was wrong.
