Synopsis
The Mexican fantasy-comedy When I'm Young (Cuando sea joven, 2022) is available to watch online on iFILM. Seventy-year-old widow Malena wakes up one morning in the body she had fifty years ago — no explanation, just her twenty-two-year-old face staring back from the mirror.
Going by the name Maria, she talks her way into her grandson's band and finally takes a shot at the singing career she set aside long ago. Veronica Castro plays the original Malena; Natasha Dupeyrón is her younger self. Director Raúl Martínez adapted the 2014 Korean hit Miss Granny for Latin American audiences — where the original leaned sardonic, this version trades that for warmth and sentiment, and largely gets away with it.
