About
Synopsis
Genevieve (1953) is a British road comedy directed by Henry Cornelius that you can watch online on iFILM, starring Dinah Sheridan, John Gregson, Kay Kendall, and Kenneth More.
Every year Alan McKim and his rival Ambrose Claverhouse drive their vintage cars down to Brighton in the London-to-Brighton rally. The trouble starts on the way back. A casual bet about who gets home first turns the countryside into a racetrack, strains both relationships to breaking point, and ends in a wildly improvised dash across London. Alan's car is a 1904 Darracq named Genevieve — the film's most stubborn, most memorable character. Kendall's comic timing here is what made her a star overnight.
