Synopsis
Kakegurui (賭ケグルイ, 2018) is a Japanese live-action drama series based on the manga by Homura Kawamoto — watch it online on iFILM. Minami Hamabe plays Yumeko Jabami, a transfer student at the elite Hyakkaou Private Academy, where the school's entire social order is decided at the gambling table.
Winners rule; losers become servants, legally bound to carry out orders. Yumeko walks in and starts dismantling the hierarchy — not because she has a plan, but because she genuinely loves a hand that could go either way. Her appetite for risk rattles everyone who thought they had the game figured out.
The manga ran from 2014 and built a devoted readership before the live-action series arrived. Hamabe's performance keeps Yumeko unreadable — you're never quite sure if she's calculating or just unhinged, which is exactly the point. Stream Kakegurui online on iFILM.
