Synopsis
Watch Evanescence: Synthesis Live online on iFILM — a concert film directed by P.R. Brown, recorded at the Grand Theater in Connecticut in fall 2017. The band, twice Grammy-awarded, stripped away the guitar-driven sound entirely: Amy Lee at the piano, a full symphony orchestra, and layered electronics.
The set opens with a single piano note building into an orchestral overture, then flows straight into "Never Go Back" without a pause. "Bring Me to Life" — the song that introduced millions to Evanescence — arrives midway through, the electronic pulse and orchestral swell doing the work that guitars once did, only quieter and more exposed. "My Immortal," "Lithium," "Lost in Paradise" land differently here. Bandmates Tim McCord, Will Hunt, Troy McLawhorn, and Jen Majura are present, but the focus stays on Amy Lee.
