Synopsis
"What the Bleep! Down the Rabbit Hole" (2006) is an American docudrama you can watch online on iFILM — directed by William Arntz and Betsy Chasse, and built around the question of what quantum physics actually says about the nature of reality and the people living in it.
Deaf photographer Amanda, played by Marley Matlin, is working through a breakup as she moves through an ordinary-looking city that keeps turning out to be anything but. Her story alternates with interviews from researchers: neurologist Andrew Newberg, neuropharmacologist Candace Pert, and physicist John Hagelin, among others. The topics covered include how observation affects experimental outcomes, why the brain processes an event and a vivid memory of that event in much the same way, and what any of this means for daily decision-making.
This is an extended rework of the 2004 original, running 156 minutes. Some material overlaps; other threads go further. It asks patience and doesn't hand out conclusions. If the intersection of quantum mechanics and human consciousness sounds like a worthwhile hour or two, it delivers. Stream "What the Bleep! Down the Rabbit Hole" (2006) on iFILM.
