Synopsis
White Bim Black Ear (1977), directed by Stanislav Rostotsky, is a Soviet drama you can watch online on iFILM. Vyacheslav Tikhonov plays Ivan Ivanovich — a retired writer and the devoted owner of Bim, a Gordon Setter born with an off-standard black ear that makes him a technical reject by breed rules.
The two are inseparable until Ivan Ivanovich collapses and is taken to hospital. Bim does not wait. He sets off across the city and far beyond to find his owner, meeting every kind of person along the way. Some help. Some do not. Some are actively worse.
