Synopsis
"Miss Austen Regrets" (2008) is a British period drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jeremy Lovering. Olivia Williams plays Jane Austen at the edge of forty — a time when the distance between the romance she put on the page and the life she actually lived became difficult to explain away.
When her niece Fanny asks for help finding the right husband, Jane finds herself doing something she was never particularly good at off the page: honest self-examination. The men she once turned down are still in the picture — Hugh Bonneville and Jack Huston among them — and none of it is as settled as her novels might suggest. Greta Scacchi plays her sister; Tom Hiddleston appears in an early supporting role.
