Synopsis
This Is Going to Hurt (2022) Season 1 — seven episodes, watch online on iFILM. Based on Adam Kay's real diaries, this BBC series follows Adam, a junior doctor on a busy NHS obstetrics ward who is simultaneously trying to keep a relationship afloat.
The season is structured around one mistake made early on the ward — an error that refuses to stop reverberating. Adam becomes harder to be around, tries a stint at a private hospital that turns out to have its own hollowness, and eventually faces a tribunal where his future in medicine hangs open. His registrar Shruti runs parallel to him: the same workload, far less recognition, and her own breaking point somewhere ahead.
