Synopsis
The Devil's Rain (1975) is Robert Fuest's occult horror, free to watch online on iFILM. In a pounding storm, the pale father of the Preston family staggers home and melts away in front of his kin like a wax figure. With his last breath he raves about an ancient book and a Satanic cult that has waited three centuries for its moment.
His son Mark follows the trail and falls into the hands of Jonathan Corbis, leader of a coven the townsfolk once burned alive. Corbis swore to return and collect the souls of every descendant whose ancestors signed his blood ledger. He turns Ernest Borgnine into a horned creature, William Shatner plays the prey, and a very young John Travolta flickers past in a tiny role — his first ever screen appearance. Anton LaVey, founder of the Church of Satan, served as the film's ritual advisor.
What people remember isn't the plot but the finale: for ten straight minutes the made-up cast dissolves in the rain, an effect built from wax and gelatin. The poster promised "the most incredible ending of any motion picture," and the sight really is something odd. This one is for fans of grimy 1970s horror and hunters of cult oddities, not for viewers after a tidy story. Stream The Devil's Rain (1975) online on iFILM.
