Synopsis
Claudio lays bricks on a building site outside Rome, adores his pregnant wife and is counting down to their third child. Our Life (La nostra vita, 2010), an Italian drama from Daniele Luchetti, is available to watch online on iFILM.
Then loss arrives out of nowhere and pulls the floor from under him. To keep his kids fed, Claudio takes on a dangerous contract, sinks into debt and runs straight into the grubby underside of the construction trade — undocumented laborers, cash in envelopes, profit squeezed from other people's misfortune. Elio Germano plays a man who rages, falters and shoulders his family anyway, a turn that earned him the Best Actor prize at Cannes. Isabella Ragonese and Raoul Bova round out the cast.
