Synopsis
Le Fil (An Ordinary Case, 2024), a French crime drama written and directed by Daniel Auteuil, is available to watch online on iFILM. Auteuil also stars as Jean Monier — a disillusioned defense lawyer handed an assignment he didn't ask for: defend Nicolas Milik, a man accused of killing his wife, with every piece of evidence pointing straight at him.
Monier takes it anyway. The deeper he pushes into the night of the murder and the fractured domestic history behind it, the harder it becomes to read his client at all. Grégory Gadebua plays Milik with a stillness that keeps you off-balance — grieving husband or calculated liar, you're never sure. Sidse Babett Knudsen as the dead wife anchors the flashback threads that slowly reframe everything.
