Getaway

Getaway (2013) is a pedal-to-the-floor action thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Courtney Solomon. On Christmas in Sofia, ex-racing driver Brent Magna gets a phone call: his wife has been taken, and a stranger's voice lays out the rules.

Brent steals a Shelby GT500 Super Snake wired with cameras and tears into the city. The kidnapper watches his every move through the in-car feeds and barks escalating orders, ram that car, run that light, lose the cops, or his wife dies. Ethan Hawke keeps his foot down for nearly the whole runtime, while a sharp-tongued young hacker (Selena Gomez) lands in the passenger seat with her own ties to both the stolen car and the man on the line. Jon Voight supplies the voice giving the commands.

This one runs on pure adrenaline: practical stunts, minimal CGI, chases shot with cameras bolted straight to the hood and bumpers. The plot is mostly an excuse to keep the engine screaming, so come for speed and crunching metal rather than story.
