Synopsis
The Big Ugly (2020) is a grim crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Vinnie Jones plays Neelyn, the longtime enforcer for London crime boss Harris (Malcolm McDowell), while Ron Perlman looms across the Atlantic as American oilman Preston. Scott Wiper directs.
Harris cuts a deal with his old friend in the hills of West Virginia: Preston's oil rigs make a tidy place to launder dirty money. The contracts get signed, the whiskey flows, and then overnight Neelyn's girlfriend Fiona vanishes — last seen with Preston's wayward son. When Neelyn finds her body, loyalty to the boss stops mattering. He turns his rage on the Americans and instantly becomes an outsider to his own side too. This is a slow, dusty revenge picture about hills, blood and old guilt, closer to neo-noir than to an action film. Jones is unusually restrained here, which somehow makes him scarier.
