Synopsis
D3: The Mighty Ducks (1996) is Rob Lieberman's family sports comedy, available to watch online on iFILM. The third chapter of Disney's hockey series sends the Ducks off to high school: the kids land scholarships at the upscale Eden Hall Academy and walk into a place where nobody rolled out the welcome mat.
At Eden Hall the Varsity squad runs everything and looks down on the scholarship players as charity cases. Coach Bombay (Emilio Estevez) steps aside, and his replacement, the no-nonsense Coach Orion, has zero patience for the old showboating tricks. The team fractures, loses its swagger, and risks losing those scholarships entirely if they choke in the big showdown against Varsity. Joshua Jackson, Elden Henson and Marguerite Moreau return to roles a whole generation of 90s kids grew up on.
This is the most grown-up film of the trilogy — less goofball comedy, more about pride, loyalty and earning your spot. It plays well for anyone who watched the Ducks as a kid and for families after a sports story with heart and no mean streak. Stream D3: The Mighty Ducks (1996) online on iFILM.
