Synopsis

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2005) is a Japanese CG action film you can watch online on iFILM — a direct sequel to the landmark video game. Two years after Sephiroth fell, ex-soldier Cloud Strife is trying to disappear into a quiet life.

That quiet doesn't last. A plague called Geostigma spreads through the survivors of ruined Midgar, killing them with no cure in reach. Then a pale stranger named Kadaj turns up with his silver-haired brothers, hunting children and the remnants of a buried past. Cloud picks up his Buster Sword again, and old allies — Tifa, Barret, Vincent — rally for one more fight.

Director Tetsuya Nomura, who designed the original game, built the movie as a pure showcase of motion: mid-air motorcycle duels, rain, slow-motion, and Nobuo Uematsu's score swelling underneath. It barely stops to explain itself to newcomers, which is exactly the point — this is a gift to players who finished Final Fantasy VII and waited a decade to see these characters move. Stream Advent Children (2005) online on iFILM.
