The Crocodiles

The initiation nearly goes badly wrong, and the boy who pulls him out of it is Kai — quick, funny and stuck in a wheelchair the other kids aren't sure they want around. Then a run of break-ins hits their corner of Dortmund, and Kai turns out to be the one witness who actually saw something. Cracking the case forces the whole gang to quit bickering and work as one. Director Christian Ditter adapts Max von der Grün's children's novel without ever talking down to its audience, landing honest notes about friendship, money trouble at home and making room for the kid who doesn't fit in.
