Her friends decide the cure is exposure and stage a bathtub séance to prove her fears are groundless. It backfires. The dark figure Madison has been seeing ever since the accident crosses over. Ry Barrett plays the creature as a fully physical presence — no CGI, no mask tricks — which gives The Drownsman a tactile quality that sets it apart from most supernatural horror of its budget range.
