Paul is left to run through narrow stone alleyways all night, slowly understanding that the worship of Dagon — an ancient sea deity — is not history here but active, breathing practice. Ezra Godden carries the film through its grinding momentum, and Spanish cinema veteran Francisco Rabal appears in one of his final roles, adding real weight to a crucial scene.
