Goon

Goon (2012) is a sports comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Michael Dowse and starring Seann William Scott. Doug Glatt is a sweet-natured bar bouncer who stumbles into his true calling after throwing fists at a hockey game: he's a natural enforcer. A minor-league coach recruits him as the team's muscle, never mind that Doug can barely stand up on skates.

What he can do is fight, and that's exactly what a league obsessed with goons wants. His job is to protect the team's talented, gutless scorer. Looming ahead is a showdown with the legendary bruiser Ross "The Boss" Rhea (Liev Schreiber), the man every player on the ice fears. Along the way Doug bonds with his teammates and falls for a girl. Jay Baruchel wrote the script and plays Doug's loudmouth best friend.

For all the blood, lost teeth and crude jokes, the film is shockingly warm, a story about a decent oaf who finally fits somewhere. Sports-comedy fans with a soft spot for underdogs will love it. Stream Goon (2012) online on iFILM.
