Alice (Seasons 1–9)

Alice (1976) is an American sitcom you can watch online on iFILM — nine seasons on CBS inspired by Martin Scorsese's 1974 film Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. Linda Lavin plays Alice Hyatt, a widow who packs up and moves to Phoenix with her teenage son Tommy, determined to restart. She ends up waitressing at Mel's Diner.

Mel's is cramped, the tips are thin, and the owner Mel (Vic Tayback) runs the place like a short-order autocrat. But the staff make up for it: Vera is earnest and perpetually off-balance, and Flo says exactly what she thinks, loudly. Flo's catchphrase — "Kiss my grits!" — turned Polly Holliday into a household name and gave the show its most memorable running joke.
