Synopsis
Beauty Shop (2005) is a comedy starring Queen Latifah, ready to watch online on iFILM. Hairstylist Gina has moved from Chicago to Atlanta so her daughter can attend a top music school, and she's become the standout talent at a glossy upscale salon.
Trouble is, her vain boss Jorge takes the credit for everything she does. So Gina quits, buys a run-down shop in a working-class part of town, and pulls together a loud, mismatched crew of stylists. The chairs fill up with every kind of client — society wives and broke students, gossips and bookworms — while Jorge schemes to run the new place into the ground. The cast is stacked with familiar faces: Alicia Silverstone, Andie MacDowell, Alfre Woodard, Mena Suvari, and Kevin Bacon hamming it up as the awful boss.
It's a spin-off of the Barbershop films, only the action shifts to a women's salon where the comedy lives in chair-side chatter, small dramas and one big dream of going independent.
