Synopsis
The Bible (2013) is a sweeping historical miniseries you can watch online on iFILM. Across ten episodes it walks through the defining stories of Scripture, opening with creation and Noah's flood, moving to the escape from Egypt under Moses, and ending on the life of Jesus.
The narrative travels through familiar names: Abraham, Moses, Samson, King David. In its back half the focus shifts to the Nazarene, played by Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado, traced from birth through the crucifixion and beyond. The producers cast actors from across the globe, filmed in the Moroccan desert, and stitched in battle sequences and CGI to give the whole thing the scale of a feature.
The project came from producer Mark Burnett and his wife Roma Downey, who also appears as the Virgin Mary; they poured roughly 22 million dollars into the shoot and brought dozens of theologians and historians on as consultants. Its History channel debut drew a massive U.S. audience. It suits viewers who want the biblical accounts told as one continuous drama rather than separate parables.
