Synopsis
Six episodes, one final run — Star Trek: The Animated Series (1973) Season 2 is streaming online on iFILM. Filmation released it in 1974, a year after the first season, and the scripts stayed sharp.
Spock contracts a fatal disease and the Enterprise races to find the only cure before time runs out. The ship's computer develops partial sentience and starts playing pranks on the crew. McCoy gets arrested for a plague he supposedly triggered during a mass vaccination nineteen years earlier. The finale inverts the show's own logic: Commodore April — the very first commander the Enterprise ever had — is aboard when the ship gets drawn toward a supernova, and everyone ends up in a universe where time flows in reverse.
