Hit & Run

Hit & Run (2012) is an action-comedy with a romantic streak that you can watch online on iFILM. A former getaway driver in witness protection blows his cover the moment he gets behind the wheel for the woman he loves.

Charlie (Dax Shepard, who also co-directed and wrote it) has gone straight, living quietly in rural California with his girlfriend Annie (Kristen Bell). When she lands a shot at a dream job in Los Angeles, he risks everything to drive her there himself. The trouble: his old crew comes roaring after him, led by a dreadlocked maniac named Alex (Bradley Cooper), plus a jumpy federal marshal and Annie's jealous ex. So much for a quiet road trip.

Shepard financed the film himself and did much of the high-speed driving on camera, which is why the chases run on real horsepower instead of CGI. The comedy is chatty and half-improvised, and the Shepard-Bell chemistry sells it (the two are a couple off screen, too). Breezy road-movie fun for anyone craving a no-superhero good time.
