Synopsis
Tin Cup (1996) is Ron Shelton's golf rom-com, ready to watch online on iFILM. Roy "Tin Cup" McAvoy once had real promise; now he hustles lessons at a rundown driving range out in West Texas.
Kevin Costner plays a stubborn dreamer who would rather blow a shot his own way than lay up safe and dull. His routine cracks open when sports psychologist Molly (Rene Russo) signs up for a lesson, and her boyfriend turns out to be slick tour pro David Simms (Don Johnson), Roy's old rival. To win Molly over, Roy sets his sights on qualifying for the U.S. Open, with his loyal caddie Romeo (Cheech Marin) along for the ride.
Shelton, who knows his way around a sports movie, builds the whole thing around a guy who cares more about the beautiful risk than the trophy.
