Return of the Living Dead III

Return of the Living Dead III (1993) is Brian Yuzna's horror film, ready to watch online on iFILM. On a secret military base, the Trioxin gas is raising corpses again, this time to weaponize the dead — and teenager Curt keeps sneaking his girlfriend Julie in to watch the experiments.

One night they argue, hop on his motorcycle, and Julie dies in the crash. Wrecked by grief, Curt does the only thing his shattered head can come up with: he breaks into his father's lab and brings her back with the same gas. Julie wakes up herself again. Almost. As the hunger for human flesh builds, she fights it by driving glass and metal spikes through her own skin, reshaping her body into a living instrument of pain. Now the two have to run from both the army and a street gang.

Yuzna, producer of Re-Animator, steered the franchise away from splatter comedy toward a bleak gothic romance about love outlasting death. The image of pierced, leather-clad zombie Julie became a genre icon. There's plenty of gore, but a surprisingly sincere love story sits at its core.
