Synopsis
The Beverly Hillbillies (1993) is Penelope Spheeris' family comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Dirt-poor Jed Clampett is shooting at swamp critters on his run-down land when he hits a gusher of oil instead. A billion dollars later, his backwoods clan loads everything onto a rickety truck and rolls off to conquer Beverly Hills.
Jed, his shotgun-toting Granny, lunkhead son Jethro and tomboy daughter Elly May move into a mansion with no clue how rich folks behave. The local snobs are appalled, while a pair of con artists size up the family's naive fortune and fake a romance to get at the bank account. Plain hill sense squares off against polished phoniness, and you can guess who comes out ahead.
Adapted from the beloved 1960s TV sitcom, it rounds up a colorful cast: Jim Varney as Jed, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton playing herself, and a young Rob Schneider.
