Synopsis
Sand Castle (2017) is a war drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Fernando Coimbra and led by Nicholas Hoult, Henry Cavill and Logan Marshall-Green.
It's Iraq, 2003, in the early months of the occupation. Private Matt Ocre and his squad get sent into a backwater village to repair a bombed-out water pumping station. The mission sounds almost humanitarian. The villagers see it differently. Some wait warily, others want the Americans gone or dead, and every step outside the wire means IEDs, sniper fire and suspicion running both ways.
Screenwriter Chris Roessner drew the story from his own deployment, and it shows. No swelling heroics, just exhaustion, dread, and the quiet truth that anything built on sand washes away with the first wave. Hoult doesn't play valor; he plays a kid who only wants to make it home in one piece. If you want a grounded Iraq film with no flags or fanfare — closer to The Hurt Locker than to an action picture — give it a look. Stream Sand Castle (2017) online on iFILM.
