The story takes place before the events of the Halo 4 game. Inside a UNSC academy, a new generation of officers trains for war against rebellious colony worlds. Cadet Thomas Lasky (Tom Green) doubts both the cause and his own ability to lead, which puts him at odds with his instructors and classmates. When a Covenant force descends on the planet, the drills turn lethal, and Lasky survives only with the help of the legendary Spartan John-117, the Master Chief, learning the hard way what being a soldier really costs.

Director Stewart Hendler shot it as five short episodes later cut into a feature, released to coincide with the game launch from 343 Industries. Anna Popplewell brings a familiar face to the cast as cadet Chyler Silva. It's a solid adaptation for franchise fans and anyone who likes military science fiction about growing up under fire.
