Peacemaker (2022) is James Gunn's DC superhero series, free to watch online on iFILM. John Cena plays a mercenary who believes in peace at any cost, even if he has to kill for it.

Having barely survived his clash with Bloodsport in The Suicide Squad, Christopher Smith gets pulled into a black-ops mission called Project Butterfly, hunting body-snatching invaders nobody else can see. Between firefights he drags around a talking eagle named Eagly, butts heads with his bigoted father, the White Dragon (Robert Patrick), and slowly figures out who he wants to be. The crew around him includes the sharp-tongued Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), starstruck rookie Vigilante (Freddie Stroma) and Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks).

Gunn wrote the whole first season and directed six of its eight episodes, turning a throwaway villain into someone clumsy, funny and oddly moving. The glam-metal dance opening set to Wig Wam became a small phenomenon of its own. Stream Peacemaker (2022) online on iFILM.
