Synopsis
Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years (2021) is a Nickelodeon prequel series you can watch online on iFILM. A ten-year-old SpongeBob heads off to a summer sleepaway camp tucked deep in the Kelp Forest.
The days fill up with jellyfish chases, campfires and swims in Lake Yuckymuck. Here young Patrick, Squidward, Sandy and Mr. Krabs are still figuring each other out, and every episode spins an ordinary camp afternoon into a small underwater caper. Tom Kenny voices SpongeBob again, with Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick and Roger Bumpass as Squidward, so the sound of Bikini Bottom carries straight over from the original show.
The switch to CGI takes a moment to get used to after years of hand-drawn cartoons. But the goofy Bikini Bottom humor survives the move intact.
