Harry and the Hendersons

George (John Lithgow) plans to haul the body to a museum, but Bigfoot wakes up and settles into the house, earning the name Harry. Meanwhile an obsessed tracker stalks the woods, itching to bag the legend for himself. The family's tidy suburban routine collapses into one good-natured disaster after another.

Rick Baker built Harry's gentle, expressive face and won an Oscar for the makeup. Lithgow throws himself into the frazzled dad role with real commitment, and his sincerity is what holds the whole thing together.
