Synopsis
Wrongfully Accused (1998) is a Leslie Nielsen spoof comedy you can watch online on iFILM. It's a rapid-fire parody of The Fugitive and a dozen other Hollywood blockbusters, packing an absurd sight gag into nearly every shot.
Ryan Harrison is a celebrated violin virtuoso and sex symbol who gets tangled up with the scheming Lauren Goodhue, played by Kelly LeBrock. When her husband turns up dead, Harrison takes the blame, gets convicted and is sentenced to die. A banana peel sends his prison bus skidding off the road, he escapes, and the chase is on. His only lead: the real killer is a one-eyed, one-armed, one-legged man. Dogged agent Fergus Falls, played by Richard Crenna, hunts him down while Harrison also tries to retrieve his tuxedo from the dry cleaner.
Director Pat Proft, co-writer of The Naked Gun, hands Nielsen exactly what he did best, playing total chaos with a perfectly straight face. The humor is broad and silly, built on visual puns and riffs on Titanic, The Rock and The Mask, and it lands best with fans of Airplane!-style comedy who aren't after subtlety. Michael York and Sandra Bernhard pop up along the way. Stream Wrongfully Accused (1998) online on iFILM.
