Harry Brown

Director Daniel Barber made a hard, unsentimental film about the failure of the law and what a man becomes when he has nothing left to protect. Caine doesn't play an action-hero avenger; he plays a tired, sick old man, which makes the violence land all the heavier. Emily Mortimer and Liam Cunningham round out the cast.
